Best Hybrid Cars for 2020

More consumers than ever are considering hybrid cars. To boost their position in the marketplace, automobile manufacturers that offer hybrids have not only reduced the base sticker prices but have also improved their design and engineering. What are the best hybrid cars for 2020? Benton Road Auto Repair looked to automotive experts Edmunds for their top four. Here’s what they are.

2020 Honda Insight

Spoiler alert: Honda and Toyota are the only manufacturers you’ll find on this list because they dominate the U.S. hybrid market. Edmunds ranked Honda’s 2020 Insight sedan as the best hybrid for 2020. The base sticker price for this vehicle is $23,860, and you’ll find a conventional HEV hybrid engine under the hood. You’ll love the 55 mpg in the city and 49 mpg on the highway the Insight offers.

2020 Toyota Camry

The hybrid Camry sedan is second on Edmunds and our list. This is a midsized sedan that offers its drivers excellent fuel economy. You won’t notice a change in performance if you switch from a gasoline-powered Camry to a hybrid one, but you might pay a little more with the hybrid’s base sticker price coming in at $29,205. Fuel savings will offset this sticker price with 51 mpg city/53 mpg highway.

2020 Honda Accord

Honda offers environmentally-conscious Accord lovers a hybrid sedan that ranks third on the best list. The Honda Hybrid Accord’s sticker price starts at $26,400. The Accord Hybrid estimates its fuel efficiency at 48 mpg in the city and 48 mpg on the highway, so as with the Toyota Hybrid Camry, you’ll offset the higher sticker price with fuel savings. The 1.5-liter engine also offers a smooth and quiet ride.

2020 Toyota Avalon

Honda, Toyota, Honda… you guessed it! Toyota. Last but not least on our list is the Toyota Hybrid Avalon. This hybrid offers drivers luxury and economy in one package. You’ll pay for more a Hybrid Avalon — $37,805 base MSRP – but it’s worth it for the infotainment system alone. The Hybrid Avalon uses a conventional HEV engine to give its drivers 43 mpg in the city and 44 mpg on the highway.
